Snow – what the?
The first warning signal was when our 3.5 hour air-hop home became a 9.5 hours journey via upstate NY in a tin-can full of beyond-tired toddlers. Way to go Contintental! two glasses of water and a granola bar in 9.5 hours does not encourage return patronage! If only we could have flown Qantas, we might have been *stranded* in Turks + Caicos 🙂
It was a rude shock to return home in the dark to a snow-covered house without power. Brrrrr 😦
The next morning, cautiously, after looking out the window….
and then out the door…
We suited up….
and made snow angels and had snow fights 🙂
Then we went for a drive aound town to survey the damage. Unfortunately the tree damage was worse than post hurricane, as the leaves still had their leaves and some bucked or split under the weight of the snow. It is such a shame Maplewood losing all these old beautiful trees 😦
(Here some piccies from around town. We didn’t really take many but these are of a snow man and some of the autumn trees that we thought looked pretty)

Snow and autumn leaves all at once! I thought the seasons were supposed to be very distinct over there! Lovely to see the rugged up snow angels at work. Love, Grandma
