Fish Markets Feast

March 29, 2009

Mum has really done a lot to help me over the last 10 months, so I decided to buy her a feast at the fish markets to say thanks…

Of course, I also thank her through quiet cooperation during photo shoots…

Amazing to think I went from this….

To this…

Considering I was the same weight in all of the pictures…how did I fit?

Last weekend, after working out what “cream of tartar” is, Dad and I made playdough. It was lots of fun!

Wiggle-Span

Cousin Juliette and I both LOVE the Wiggles. We like to get as close as possible to the television so that we can get an uninterrupted view!

If you really must distract us from the Wiggles, it better be important and brief 🙂

What a burger!

My first visit to our local pub (the Great Northern) was marked by a beer and a burger (both had by dad!).

Hopefully this is the first visit of many…hint hint mum & dad!

Strange cold torture…

What is this obsession with weight? Who cares…

It was the middle of my last night in hospital. I woke up and let mum know (at the top of my lungs) that I was ready to be fed; only to be whipped down to the nursery where some strange woman stripped me naked and put me on the cold cold scales. HELLO?

Apparently I had only lost 5% of my birth weight which mum told me is quite impressive for a little tike. BUT from my perspective the whole process was quite traumatic for someone who is just five days old.

Shortly afterwards we returned to our room and Mum fed me. All was forgiven…

Later that day we returned to the comfort of our home.

Then yesterday, it happened again. Some strange woman from the local community centre came to visit. She barged in, interrupted my sleep, strips me naked and puts me on the cold, cold scales again. Again they try and comfort me by telling me how well I am doing to be back above my birth weight.

BUT to be honest, I couldn’t care less what my weight is. Feed me or let me sleep!

Another blue flat mate!?!

Not only has Lachlan come home, but over the last couple of weeks, we’ve also had a new flat mate. He is a blue tongue lizard and lives in the drain on our front porch. Every day we have a chance to say hello as we step over him.

There’s a lot of blue around all of a sudden … but I’m not scared!

  • I’m a big sister now and am YET to show any signs of jealousy. Stay tuned…
  • Lachie gave me a cool “baby” of my own and it came with a stroller, port-a-cot, mini-gym and change table. I am loving playing with the stroller in particular. There are some pictures of me playing with the stroller in Lachie’s post.
  • My favourite food at the moment is cottage cheese.
  • My words are coming along in leaps and bounds. I surprised mum and dad by asking for avocado at dinner tonight. I also enjoyed saying (and trying) “iced tea” tonight.
  • I am loving my swimming lessons and playing in the pool with mum and dad. I’ve been to the pool a few times with my cousins Emma & Juliette which has been lots of fun 🙂
  • I can climb into the car seat myself. Baby Lachie has a “baby” car seat next to mine.
  • I get very interactive with Dora now and answer all the questions at the right time.
  • I like to skip every where and am trying really hard to jump.
  • My favourite words are “Oh no!” and “Uh oh”
  • My manners are beautiful. I know that if I say “pleeeese” with a big smile I can pretty much get anything!
