Golf Buggy Exploring

August 24, 2018
by

Today was to be our last day on beautiful Isla Holbox and so we decided to hire a golf buggy and exploer the island 🙂

We had a leisurely breakfast, where we said goodbye to our new friends from Israel.

Picked up the cart and we were off exploring.

First stop Playa de Holbox

Then Playa Cocos – for a swim

Then lunch

Then to a quiet place for E&L to learn how to drive a golf cart (go & stop pedals)

Another swim at playa de Holbox and then back to chillax at hotel (out of sun).

Cocktail hour once again, a little more last minute shopping 🙂

Dinner was room service as the little bear had a questionable tummy and we didn’t want to chance it. E slept & B&L had a night of enjoying the hotel wifi and watching the Flash 🙂

The day we’d been waiting for

Up super early for whale shark tour! By 7am we were in the boat and on our way! We were sharing with an amazing family from Israel – 2 adults & 4 kids. Lachie was best buds with their son in no time 🙂

From about 9:15-10:30 snorkel w whale sharks, and also saw a huge mantaray

Then we rode back ~2 hours towards Isla Holbox to a snorkel spot – where we saw stingrays, turtles & lots of fish 🙂
Next stop beach was a beach for guac & ceviche. They’d intentionally brought guac for E+L as I’d flagged they didn’t like ceviche 🙂

Then we saw Flamingos…we felt quite lucky as we saw a whole flock o flamingos. People in the hotel and the captain said they hadn’t seen any the day before so that we shouldn’t get our hopes up 🙂

Home to swim & chill and a little snooze 🙂
Cocktail hour and dinner @ sushi place

A little shopping…

Back to Roots for pizza dinner #2 🙂

The post dinner ice cream took out Eli’s double tooth 😦
(she decided to wait and put it out for the tooth fairy in NJ who brings USD, and not the Mexican one who brings Pesos)

An amazing and brilliant day!

Is chillaxing good?

Hmmm so the plan today was to relax, do nothing and enjoy the beach / hotel. We put it to a vote and all agreed 🙂

FIrst breakfast and then we went back to our room to reset…

another swim

A wander around town and lunch…

A wander along the beach

Dinner at a rooftop hotel for margaritas & fanta – lobster & steak – yummy! and $26!

The all important ice cream stop…

Isla Holbox is gorgeous – thanks for a fun & interesting day!

For the *alternate* summary of the day:
What do you want to do kids? chillax.
ok! …big mistake! Bored kids fight 😦
The next two days here will be a little more planned / structured.
