NJSO next door
The NJ Symphony Orchestra did a free concert in our sister village South Orange…it was movie tunes which was lots of fun to sing along too!
One of our highlights was finally meeting Gemma New – their Kiwi conductor who also happens to be the daughter of a guy I work with.
Pretty awesome and a great role model 🙂
It was a fun way to spend a beautiful summer evening 🙂

TV Turnoff medals
Another successful year for TV Turnoff on our house.
By choice…
Lachie made silver – which limits screentime to 30mins/day severely restricting his minecraft / YouTube video time.
Eli made gold – which is no screentime between Sunday night and Friday afternoon.

A whirling good Father’s day
The Father’s day tratdition continued, and this year Nathan got a Turbot flag 🙂 Which of course we fly proudly 🙂
For his Father’s day road trip Nathan chose to go to Dorney Park
Do you think it had something to do with the fact they have Snoopy Land? Or his love for roller coasters? Or Ritas? mmm custard ice-cream…

Lachie’s Author day
This morning we went in to Lachie’s classroom for author day so that they could read their best story incorporating the techniques they’ve been working on all year. Hugely biased I know…..but Lachie’s was awesome! He did a great job 🙂
Rockin’ the Cross Roads Stage
We sat with friends in the Cross Roads live music venue…
and listened to E+L rock their piano recital! It was awesome 🙂

Whoa! What a day…
The day started with an early walk – where I saw some local friends along the way…
Then Eli’s horse riding class…
(she got three classes for her birthday)
Then the two awesome concerts (2pm & 6pm)…
and finished with a babysitter and a NJ beer tasting evening in support of the kids school 🙂
(who knew NJ has so many beer makers!)

Hip Hop ‘ballers and Breakin’ Ninjas
Once again Inspiration dance put on a fantastic show…with the highlights of course being the performances of Lachie’s two classes 🙂
His Hip Hop class became funky basketball players 🙂
Then his Breakin’ class showed us how cool ninjas are…
