The Apple Turkey Gobble Gobble!
By:Elimena
This is one of the best creations of food turkey in the whole entire world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our class had a thanksgiving feast and dad came along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this are the ingredients to make a apple turkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An apple, about 150.0 baby marshmallows and toothpicks, raisins.
School Photos
Eli and Lachieare more gorgeous than ever…but the school photos this year are not the best…
…perhaps because last year’s were so good we had unrealistic expectations…?
Turkey Trot
Since so many volunteers helped our race last weekend, Eli & I thought we’d help out at another 5k and return the good karma. Even though it meant getting there at 7:30am!!! We helped runners in all sorts of readiness states and it was a learning experience in itself. I was proud of the cheer, charm and enthusiam Eli put in without any complaints. Great job little bear 🙂

Girls on the Run
Eli and her two good friends Sammy & Ruby did “The Girls on the Run” program this Fall. Which is a ten week self empowerment and running program that manifests in a 5k…

Pre-race (with the crew)…

The morning was a little colder than we expected, but luckily (I-told-you-so) dad saved the day and turned up with winter coats ten minutes after he dropped us off so that we didn’t stand around for an hour before the race getting frostbite!
Unfortunately the girls have to run with a chaperone (eek!) so mum had to go into training too…!

Post-race…

Eli ran the whole thing! We are so proud of you little bear!
Storm King
We hadn’t been on a road trip for a while (Brooklyn was a train trip !?!), and so we headed up to the Hudson are in NY to the Storm King Art Center with some good friends – Michelle, Eric, Ruby and Maria.
It was kind of a last attempt to spend some time outside before it gets too cold 😦
It was great fun exploring the beautiful park. Lachie & Ruby had a lovely time throwing the rugby ball around as the four little tigers ran up and down hills and along paths…
We had a great day!

Beautiful Saturday Mornings
Eli had her practice 5k on a unseasonably warm Saturday morning. So today whilst Eli runs…
Lachie and I found something to do…
(whilst still encouraging her when she got close of course!)
She made it! Eli is all set for next weekend 🙂
Mum (her running buddy) on the other hand… has a whole lotta work to do…eek!
The moment however that made mum most proud however, was Eli and her friends had been finished a little while when they realized that one of their friends was still running. So even though they were tired, four of the girls ran over to the last girl and ran the last section with her. Way to go girls! Girls on the Run is really teaching great values 🙂
Then they could all celebrate together 🙂
Today was also the last day of Eli’s sewing group. Look at what she made 🙂
Brooklyn Mini-break Day 2
The day started with a bang! As we jumped in the lift we realized that Brooklyn was hosting the National Beard Competition and that we just happened to be staying at the sponsor hotel. I wish we had of taken pictures…there were some amazing moustaches and beards 🙂
After breakfast at the hotel we headed to Fort Green Park for a play and the views of the city
Then we had a little wander through downtown Brooklyn….
(note the billboard: All I need is YOU and a new shoes!)
Before heading to the New York Transit Museum to see all the old subway trains…
We checked out of the hotel and finished off the awesome chocolate babka from yesterday 🙂
Next stop was a quick bus to Flatbush. We took a family vote and it was 3-1 for pizza 🙂

At 1pm we did a fun Flatbush food tour by foot. Whilst not as good as yesterday’s graffiti tour it was still lots of fun. I was really proud of Eli and Lachie for trying everything 🙂
A huge highlight for Nathan and Lachlan, was when we ran into a bunch of guys writing a game in one of the cafes.
On the subway back to Penn station, there was some truely amazing hip hop buskers in the Subway car with us. Their use of space with high speed flips and spins was super-fun to watch. It was incredible they didn’t hit anyone.
Then home for a friend’s birthday dinner in the evening.
We had a great couple of days in Brooklyn 🙂
There is still so much to see we may have to do it again!
