Sun, Beach and Seafood
After getting dressed and a little playtime…
and a “good” breakfast (green pancakes?)
This time we thought we’d take Grandma & Grandad to the Jersey Shore for some seafood – yummo!
First there was a walk and play on the beach…
Luckily our trip just happened to coincide with the annual Belmar Seafood Festival.
Sadly Grandma & Granddad are off to Hawaii tomorrow. Thanks for coming to visit. It was great seeing you xx
Strawberries & Ducks!
Time to show Grandma and Granddad a little of New Jersey.
First stop was Alstede Farms in Chester NJ, for a little strawberry picking, eating and playing.
On the way home we stopped at Kennedy Martin Stelle Farmstead in Basking Ridge for a little duck racing and painting.
In the evening Eli and Lachie were tucked up at home (with Britney), while Granddad, Grandma, Bianca & Nathan went for NJ hot & spicy wings followed by the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. It was lots of fun!
Not quite the plague we’d anticipated
Ballet Recital
There was make up – WOW!
(we added a few flourishes of our own – check out my non-regulation flowers)
Photos with mum and dad…
We left Lachie to his bug hunting with dad…
Look Grandma and Granddad came all the way over for my concert
(a BIG THANK YOU!!!)
and I even got a medal. It was a pretty special day.

Jesery Shore to home: via Six Flags of course!
Is there a good place to break up our trip home? Any ideas team?
Yes you say? Six flags??? A little drizzle won’t hurt us 🙂
Jersey Shore: Hanging at the OC
After breakfast on the boardwalk, it was time for a relaxing day on the beach. Who would let a little wind & cool weather get in the way 🙂
The Ocean City beach was still recovering from Hurricane Sandy, but that didn’t stop us from having lots of fun.
An Ice-cream for lunch!
(shhhhh…don’t tell mum)
For dinner we thought we’d try a new chain that we’d been watching ads for on the TV for months. We went to the The Golden Corral. One visit is probably enough (the all you can eat buffet should have told us that!) but it was certainly fun to try. Lachie loved the chocolate fountain, Eli the ice-cream bar and Nathan the meatloaf & gravy on super soft rolls. And to think we came for the wings!
Jersey Shore: Whale Watching and The OC
Today we headed down the Cape to do a little Whale & Dolphin watching.

Unfortunately the whales were all on holidays but we got to see logs of Dolphins 🙂
We kept ourselves entertained while we went in search for Whales….
There were no whales in the end but the Cape May Lighthouse was beautiful…
We even got to see The International Kite Festival at Wildwood that was blown away yesterday…
Lunch at Lucky Bones – who had something for everyone – ribs & pizza!
Some quiet time and then we tried an Ocean City local for dinner – Manco & Manco pizza.
Memorial Day Weekend – Jersey Shore here we come
Memorial Day weekend marks the start of summer. SO it was time for our first summer road trip. What else to do but head to the beach down the Jesey Shore?
Our first stop was Wildwood NJ
We had lunch at the Doo Wop Diner…
Unfortunately it was too windy for the International Kite Festival, but we had a lovely stroll around Wildwood beach, boardwalk, convention center and playground…
Some much needed quiet time back at the hotel in Ocean City. Then dinner at Nino’s family restaurant (with it’s fun spaghetti and HUGE serves)…
The on to Reed’s beach to see the annual horseshoe crabs mate & lay their eggs by the full moon.
Unfortunately it was too windy for these guys today too, but we had a lovely time playing and watching the sun go down.
It was a full moon 😦 but there were not too many crabs to be seen. It was also sad to see how devastated the area still is from Hurricane Sandy.
Back at the hotel we went for either a little bored walk or a little board walk to check out the full moon and wind down…
So the day didn’t quite go to plan, but we still had a great day 🙂
