Red White and Blue – happy Fourth!
Like last year we headed down to the bike race all decked out in our red white and blue:
This year we were a little smarter. Rather than battling the heat we spent the day relaxing by the pool…very nice!
We had a BIG sleep and then ALL headed down for the fireworks. First we ran around and played games with our fellow Maplewoodians…
The we sat back and enjoyed the fireworks.
What a great day! Happy Fourth friends and family 🙂
Dragon Tamer
Goodnight Lachie
Goodnight Lachie…if only it was that quick and simple! Anything to delay the inevitable 😉
A typical good night conversation maps out something like…
Goodnight Hotdog.
Goodnight Sushi.
Goodnight clever cookie.
Goodnight clever ice-cream
Goodnight Lachie.
Goodnight Mom. Hey Mom, I love you more than a digger.
Ah thanks Lachie. I love you lots too 🙂 Time for sleep Lachie okay. Goodnight my big boy.
Okay, good night my big momma.
(yikes! thinks mum!) Goodnight mummie’s little man.
Goodnight Lachie’s big momma.
(Bianca walks out thinking…hmmmm! we’ll have to work on that one!)
Ajuni’s Princesses
Pancakes and falls
After horse-ing around 😉
(literally! Eli made this cool horse outfit all by herself – impressive little bear!)
We headed off to our favourite pancake place…
Followed by a scooter ride at the nearby falls.
Another fun day with Grandma Helen and Granddad 🙂
Fathers Day Feast
Yesterday after meeting with Thomas, we headed out for our Father’s day feast. We went to The Plain and Fancy Farm restaurant for their Amish Farm Feast. While defintely not so healthy, it was VERY yummy 🙂
The grounds of the restaurant were fun to play in too…
Happy Father’s day 🙂
Bird-In-Hand PA
This weekend we met Grandma Helen and Granddad in the heart of Amish County at Bird-In-Hand Pennslyvania.
First stop was for snacks at the Farmers market…
…the we explored Bird-In-Hand and it’s neighbouring communities…
Then we checked into our hotel…
(these photos are actually from the next morning)
A sleep…
A quick swim…
Followed by a birthday dinner for Grandma Helen at the Iron Hill Brewery in Lancaster.
Finished off with a run in the park accross the street 🙂
What a fun day 🙂
A day out with Thomas
It was Father’s day and so of course dad was woken with pressies at the crack of dawn….
(every day he is woken at the crack of dawn but today it was with pressies!)
We did the coolest thing ever…we went to the Strasburg Railroad to see Thomas!!! There was much excitement…
There were rides…
There were little trains…
There was a steam train…
But most importantly there was Thomas!
(and trains, tracks and tattoos afterwards)
Wanna catch a ball game?
Whilst dad/Lee the avid sports fan was in town, what better to do than take him to a ball game. Where to but Yankee Stadium of course!
We were lucky enough to see (with 57,000 of our closest friends)…
…the two New York teams play (NY Yankees and NY Mets) and so the atmosphere was awesome.
Including their much loved players: Jeter #2 and Rodriguex #13.
Even the greensmen were talented whith their dance moves to entertain us while they worked between innings.
It was an amazing game with the Yankees down with two innings to go, then tying the score at the bottom of the eighth and then hitting it out of the field in the final inning to bring it home.
All in all it was a great day and I think we may have some new baseball fans?
Brooklyn Bridge adventure
While Lachie was off at a birthday party (chaperoned by dad), the remaining four of us headed into NYC to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
We set off nice and early and managed to get up the front of the first carriage. The driver was kind enough to let us watch out the front of the train…
First we took the ferry…
Upon reaching Brooklyn we went for a wander…
Enjoyed the iconic view of Manhattan…
Walked across the bridge…
Not letting a few drops of rain stop us!
Patiently sat on the train ride home while Eli played with the camera…
The we stopped for the all important ice-cream in Maplewood park and listened to the live music.
