Oh Christmas Tree!
Manny’s Texas Weiners
The other night we tried a local diner – Manny’s Texas Wieners.
Our exploration of American Cuisine continues … much to Dad in Lachlan’s delight in this case!

I love to colour in and write my letters. I am getting good at small words and mom is very proud. (Yes we have been teaching her “mom” and not “mum”).
I love to make up princess stories full of rainbows and unicorns and pretty outfits. I love to draw them too.
I still love pink and frilly clothes but will actually wear pants this year.
My favourite food is chicken nuggets once again. I had over-dosed on them on the flights on the way here, but I am back on track.
My best friends are Clair and Ajunie but I miss my friends from Australia
I love running and playing on the swings. I have these cool light up shoes that run really fast…?
I am thoughtful and cautious and kind. I am a great big sister. I make great pancakes for the family on a Sunday morning 🙂
Bath Beards Never Grow Old
Swimming Pool 1 : Lachie 0
Usually I have boundless energy.
This morning we started swimming lessons in Summit. Mum said only big kids who tried really hard get to go to swimming lessons and so I was determined to show her that that was me! So I kicked double time. I jumped into the water at great lengths and speeds. I sang the songs. I blew bubbles when asked. I even suffered through floating on my back. For 25 minutes. I did this for 25 minutes. The class however was 30 minutes long.
After 25 minutes I told mum I was done. Finished. Out. Done. I was exhausted.
Mum complied.
I was quiet all the way home in the car.
When we got home mum suggested we play on the swing set or go for a stick hunt. No. For the first time ever, all I wanted to do was sit down.
Mum was so proud of me. I’ll be swimming in no time!

Lachie has become independent and keen to do things for himself – finally! We strongly suspect the urge comes from his “Koala” room at day-care. Since starting in this room three months ago I can now put my own shoes on and dress myself. I also don’t need diapers during the day or night anymore. The transition took me less than a week. Shows you what I can do when I put my mind to it.
I have this really funky way of putting my winter coats & jackets on. It is really hard to describe but I’ll try. What we need is a video. What I do is lay the jacket outer side down on the ground. I stand near the top/neck of the jacket. I put my arms in and then rapidly sweep it over my head to put in on. It is quite a site and mum thinks it’s adorable.
I love music. I love to dance and sing. I am a really good singer (just like the rest of the family!)
I could live on weetbix, cheese and hotdogs if mum would me. I’ve given up resisting and will now eat chicken nuggets with Eli (her favourite food).
I am active, busy and full of energy. I love to play outside in the leaves and sticks. I love to explore.
I am clever and have a great memory. I am doing really well with my letters and love doing puzzles. Particularly dinosaur ones.
I love dressing up; particularly as a pirate or a superhero.
I am big hearted and kind but energetically so. I am extremely social and love to be the life of the party. Just wait until you see my dance moves…
And more leaves…
Mmmm…it’s all about the Turkey
For Thanksgiving we caught up with some old friends and ate lots of Turkey. It was excellent 🙂 It was so lovely to see them 🙂
First there was lots of waiting…
Lachie spent lots of time hanging out with one of his favourite people Chris. (Poor Chris – Lachie followed him around the entire time. Thanks mate)
More waiting for the Turkey…
Then it’s DINNERTIME!!!
The turkey was yummy. The first day. And the second. Although, we over estimated how much turkey we needed and so we had enough for the week. We had cold turkey cuts, turkey cheese melts, turkey sandwiches, turkey salads, turkey and eggs…I can wait until next Thanksgiving to have Turkey again!
Rocking with the Rockettes
Today we went into the Radio City Music Hall in NYC…
…Â and saw the Rockette’s Christmas Spectacular. As Fancy Nancy would say it was splendiferous!
There were sparkling lights, glittery outfits, impressive sets, rockin’ music, dancing Santas – they had it all 🙂
Even Lachie lasted an hour before getting too fidgety and having to go out into the foyer with Dad. We had a ball 🙂
We were pretty impressed to see the NY Giants too…
Autumn or Fall
I wonder why they call it fall?
This is our front yard…
This is our back yard…
The side yard…
The street…
Now I know why they call it Fall 😉
At least it is fun to play in. It makes cool noises when you stomp on it and when you whoosh through it on the slide! It also works pretty well as a landing pad 🙂
