Our new rooms
We’re still unpacking and getting organised, but as promised here are some piccies of our new rooms.
Yes cliched – pink for girls and blue…but they are our favourite colours 🙂
Here are the before – middle – and then after shots of Eli’s room…it’s very Fancy Nancy 🙂
And here is Lachie’s room – before and after…Ultimately we’ll be going for stars and stripes as we need new accessories / big boy things over time 🙂
Now you know where to think of us!
Love Elimena & Lachlan xx
P.S. Don’t tell mum if you like the before shots better!
Our new family member
When we first moved to New Jersey we heavily relied on TomTom. We worried about him like one of our own. If he died how would we get anywhere in this new country??? He became one of the family until he deserted mum in heavy city traffic one day by trying to get her to turn off the middle of a bridge.
Now we’ve found Roby. He’s a little robot that sweeps and mops our wooden floors.
He currently also provides entertainment as we watch him hum around the floor 🙂
Straight out of the movies
I think I’ve finally optimized my new route to work… Take the train to Penn Station, exit at Madison Square Garden, take the subway uptown to Rockefeller Center and walk past the diamond shops across to Fifth Avenue.
Definitely feels like NYC 🙂
Happy birthday to me!!!
I love a good birthday. Particularly when it is mine 🙂
It was a great birthday with all the right ingredients – chicken nuggets, cupcakes, candles and presents. There were a few faces missing this year – but luckily Skype & the phone fixed that!
The presents this year were mainly themed around dolls, accessories and pink clothes. All my favourite things. I was totally spoilt!
Why do I have to wait a year for another one?
Maplewood
Finally today we moved into our new house in Maplewood  🙂
[When we were deciding where to live, one of things we found was a video on Maplewood by Sue Adler. This woman could sell ice to Eskimos 🙂 ]
We have boxes everywhere and lots of space! Plus a whole new town to explore 🙂
The move means no more sharing a room for Lachie and Eli. Which means bedtime should reduce from a story, thirty minutes of chatting and then a few pointed words from mum or dad. Back to a story followed by good night hugs. Fingers crossed.
It also means a 30 minute commute for Dad, Eli & Lachie. Mum’s commute though reduces from two and a half hours to under an hour.
Between closing (American for settling) and our furniture arriving we had a little time for renovating. We’ll post some piccies when we have unpacked a little more.

Lachlan Meets a Lobster
Dinner at Red Lobster: Good.
Meeting the Lobsters face-to-face: Great.
The next 48 hours for Mum: Definitely not good.
Peddler’s Village Strawberry Festival
Headed down to Pennsylvania on the weekend for some time at the Peddler’s Village Strawberry Festival. Great weather, amazing food and really nice atmosphere – we loved it :). The Strawberry Shortcake was definitely the highlight!
