Cocktail dress for 4 month olds
Aunty Nai and Uncle Josh got engaged recently and the party was this weekend. It was my first big chance to really dress up!
It’s hard to pull off “Cocktail dress” when you are only 4 months, but I got a few second glances (although admittedly Grandma Wallace below is probably a bit biased).
Mini-break at Tuross
Sydney hosted APEC on the weekend, and I’m not really interested in politics yet, so we decided to head down to Tuross Head for the long weekend to visit Great Grandma (or “Great G’ma” as she often called).
Mum and Dad tried to fit an entire wheely bag of their stuff in Fergus the Focus, which definitely made it hard to fit my things in as well. But, the car trip was fast and uneventful as we actively avoided motorcades and I took the opportunity to catch up on some shut eye.
The weekend was spent with long meandering walks, a fair bit of play time and lots of smiles for Great G’ma.
My day
Chapter Two
Well just when mum & dad thought they had me all sorted, I decided to change the playing field…..
I used to “Feed-Play-Sleep” every three hours when I was a little baby. However in the last ten days I’ve had a growth spurt and now I’m all grown up. I have dropped a feed and now only feed every four hours.
Obvious yes? Well I would have thought so, but it took the olds a few days to work it out. Surely the signs of me waking up in the middle of the night and me only feeding for five munutes at a time should have made it clear?
Mum, Dad – I’m not a newborn anymore! According to Huggies I’m two steps beyond that! I was first a newborn, then an infant and now I’m a crawler. I’m yet to actually crawl though – although I can turn over from my stomach onto my back….that seems to be close enough for Huggies 🙂
Anyway, now that the olds have finally caught on, I’m back to sleeping and eating well 🙂
This would have been a good Chapter Two in the Elimena instruction manual 🙂
Sock Today, Gone Tomorrow
Here are a few shots of me in action – taking my shoes and socks off. I’m pretty good at it…..
As a side story, mum & I went to the shops while I was in this outfit and she totally embarrassed me! THREE PEOPLE told her what a handsome boy she had – AND she didn’t correct them! She was quite happy to let them think she had a boy. With people getting my name wrong (HCF) and my date of birth wrong (BDM), you think they could at least get my sex right. Mum, here is yet another reason to dress me in my favourite colour – pink!
Pink, pink and more pink
Yesterday was dad’s first father’s day…so I decided to spoil him a little 🙂
Mum told me that the traditional father’s day pressie was socks or undies – so I gave dad both.
No father’s day is complete without a little chockie (or at least that is what mum said about mother’s day?). Toblerone had the father’s day market sussed.
Then finally, I know that my dad thinks there is not enough pink in the house. So I gave him Pink, Pink and more Pink! This being the three Pink albums – “Can’t take me home“, “M!ssundaztood” and “I’m not dead“.
Talk to the hand
Over the last few weeks, I’ve developed two new tricks: sucking my fist and chatting away to those around me.
Dad thinks I’m a particularly clear communicator when I combine the two: “I’m so cute! Cuddle me now!”.
Camperdown Park
Yesterday was a big family day!
I played with Great Aunty Di, Kirrily, Matthew, Liz, Madeleine and a-soon-to-be-relo at Camperdown park.
Left is a picture of me discussing politics with Great Aunty Di.
Right is a picture of Madeleine riding one of the ponies. Hopefully these ones do not have the flu.
Below are some more pictures of us all from the park…
Then in the afternoon Aunty Naomi came over. She made up another excuse but I know it was just to visit me.
Like anyone who had sat around in the sun all day drinking, by the evening I was knackered and had a full belly 🙂
The next best thing….
If mum won’t take me to Middlemount to see my cousins, the next best thing is to talk to them on the web. So on Sunday we set up webcam chatting with the Brownings.
Here is a piccie of cousins Tom and Milly. Not from talking to them on Sunday but just so you know who I am talking about. These photos are from our Chrissy in Japan.
It was pretty cool to be able to see and hear them over the webcam!
Ahhhhhh! yes – my generation….we’re so tech savvy!
