Saturdays are becoming my favourite day of the week….

Dad is home – so I have two people running around after me!
…and I usually get to play with some family and friends too 🙂

Last Saturday I met Grandad….

….and Bronte….

….and had dinner with Matt, Emma, Peta & Blaine.
(Okay these piccies are from the hospital but the people are the same)

Talk about a fun day!

Then on Sunday, I was knackered. I am the “happy” one in the below piccies with the Cleary’s – Leah, Matt & Nathaniel….

It wasn’t all bad…..at least I got to meet Nate (what a spunk!). I can’t believe that he is only six weeks older than me.

Elimena’s headbeat

Sitting in the afternoon sun one day we noticed Elimena’s head beating. This is simply the anterior fontanelle (a soft spot where the skull bones are still forming) that should close of it’s own accord by about 15 months.

Strike a Pose!

It’s a slow start to the shoot, with Eli still recovering from the big day out.

Come on, no need to be coy…

Hmmm…. OK

Just let me think for a minute…

I know! Come on, sing along!

And show me more of those dance moves!

That’s it, no more photos!!

I think we’ve used all our energy for today.

Snuffleupagus…..

Grrrr….nose is blocked 😦
Grrrr….can’t breathe 😦
Grrrr….can’t eat properly 😦

Just call me Snuffleupagus 😦

P.S. Dad says it is good for building my immunity, but he would say that as he gave me my first cold!

Big Day Out!

well last Saturday was a real treat…..

We had lunch with Nanny Paul and Grand-Farmer at the Great Northern….so it meant that there was good company and then yummy Great Northern food for afternoon tea 🙂

….then my friend Becky dropped over to visit in the afternoon. Luckily she brought her parents (Eric & Maria) over to keep my olds busy….

…then in the evening I got to play with my cousin Emma at Grandpa’s birthday dinner. (and see Grandma, Grandpa, Aunty Naomi, Aunty Becky and Uncle Steve)….

What a day! The best part was that I was knackered and fed at 9:20pm and then slept until 6am. Mum and Dad think I’m an angel!

Warm noisy cuddles

Visiting the fish markets was the first in a small series of outings leading up to our attendence at Dave & Karie’s engagement party.

I was so excited on the day that I couldn’t sleep at all. But, then I crashed in the car on the way to Bilgola leaving me in a blissful, floppy sleep for the entire party. Mum and dad couldn’t have been prouder!

Of course, from my perspective the party had all the perfect ingredients for sleep: a soft warm outfit, endless cuddles and lots of noise. Lucky for mum and dad I don’t demand that every night 😉

The world’s most luxurious plastic bath

After shopping around for the best, most functional, low-cost plastic bath, mum sent dad to target with exact instructions on make & model. Lucky for me, dad spotted this bathing system and performed an impulse purchase (much to mum’s amusement).

Now I can bath in the safety, luxury & convenience of this small hammock. Believe me, this is much more comfortable than when dad attempts to replicate the Cocktail-style hand movements & flips of the nurses from the bathing demonstration at the hospital.

I especially love having a warm washer draped over me (and also appreciate the modesty it provides).

Seafood feast

For Bianca, 9 months was a long time to go without eating her favourite foods like Oysters, Sushi or Sashimi. The temptation was particularly high (i.e. torturous) when we visited Japan at Christmas. Today, as part of a series of practice outings we ventured to the fish markets.

Bianca made up for lost time…

And started introducing Elimena to culinary delights…

By the end, Eli was plum tuckered out 🙂

Peter Garrett Hands

Mum & Dad say I have gorgeous long elegant fingers and hands.

When I wake up distressed (i.e. hungry – the world is ending and there is NO FOOD!), I like to wave my hands in the air like Peter Garrett does when he dances. On seeing this Mum likes to laugh and sing me midnight oil songs, ’cause she knows that food is but minutes away.

Who is this Peter guy and where does she get these songs?
…and how come after all these years mum hasn’t learnt to sing better?
Come on mum this is the naughties not the eighties…get with the times!

I am so the product of a computer nerd……daddy’s little girl!

It is day two at home and mum has been wandering around the house trying to settle me. After quite a while mum gets selfish and thinks I’ll just check my email…..

Mum sits down, rocking in the office chair, surrounded by the buzz buzzing of computers and the tap tapping of the keyboard…..and HEY PRESTO! I’m off. I’m sleeping as deep as the ocean.

Wander how long this technique will last?
I’ll let mum and dad get a false sense of security….he he he
