Roller Coasters and Home!
Today, we whipped back to Universal for as many roller coasters as we could fit in! Then headed home. What a fun trip 🙂
Harry Potter Heaven
St Augustine to Orlando
Today we are headed down the coast to Orlando…
Our Pirates hotel had a ummy pancake breakfast included.
We had a final walk around the around town via the basilica & a bakery for coffee before leaving our Pirate hotel…
First we headed south to the Manatee Sanctuary Park.
Yes once again they were elusive, next stop Cape Canaveral – always a favourite!
Then to out home for the night where Leah had made super yummy spaghetti – yum! An early night before a big day tomorrow!

Off to St Simon’s for a walk around waterfront park, pier & lighthouse…

Drive to st Jekyll island for a walk along dunes beach
Sea turtle hospital to comfort the sick & revuperating
Drive to st Augustine
to check in for our stay at the quirky Pirate Haus. Our room even has it’s own poop deck (yes you read correctly…check the picture – it was labelled in case there was any doubt)
First we walked along the shore to Fort – Castillo San Marcos
Then we explored around town
a yummy dinner
A well-deserved dessert of course!
Back to our pirate room 🙂

Up and at-em! We’re off – we walked into town through Forsyth Park…

A super yummy Cajun lunch – best shrimp etoufee ever! (Nathan liked his burger too)
Watching the massive container ships just clear the bridge – to four engineers and five little guys it was mesmerizing!

Home late afternoon (back through the park & cemetary)
Back into town for Japanese for dinner – Laksa!!!
(some of us needed a break from southern barbeque…some didn’t)
Charleston to Savannah
Buffet breakfast – my favourite! ALways a good start to any day 🙂
We are loving this stunning weather (27! Maplewood will be 12 today…)
First stop is Boone’s Plantation.
Where we did a tour of the Plantation
Went to a history lesson in slave row (the houses where the slaves slept)
Explored the beautiful old belle mansion and then saw the cotton & cotton gin – the oldest standing gun in the US
Lunch in Mt Pleasant Landing – with a beautiful view from our table
A drive through swamp lands & over cool bridges
To the Charleston Tea Plantation – the last remaining tea plantation in the US.
There we had a factory tour (there were making green tea), did a little tea tasting & a little Shopping
Then to the Old Sheldon Ruins
Before arriving in beautiful Savannah
Road Trip! To Charleston we come
We’re off to drive from Charleston to Orlando 🙂 Our first stop Charleston, the uneventful flight was certainly helped by the extra hour sleep
We picked up the hire car and headed into town, where there was parking everywhere?
A quick lunch At Rarebit- cocktails and southern food! Great dark-n-stormy’s Off to an excellent start!

Back to relax – via a free bus where a man made the kids names in wire 🙂

And peace pie for those who still had space for dessert!
