Braving the bears for Duckie day
Occasionally bears are spotted in South Mountain Reserve.
Yesterday a bear was spotted in a perpendicular street, ~150m away.
Memorial park lies between the two…
Even that is not enough to stop us from walking down to Memorial park for one of our favourite days of the year.
We had too much fun running around our local park, under the sprinklers in our garden and cheering on the rubber duckies today to take photos. Identical to other years. So here are some photos from other years: 2014 2012
Summer has officially started!
Happy Memorial day!
Go Bulls
Today for our friend Milo’s 6th birthday we went to watch the NY Red Bulls. It was disappointing that Cahill wasn’t still playing…but we had a great time all the same.
We were super impressed when one of Lachie’s mates Liam turned up in a Cahill jersey:)
Eli’s Birthday Do
Park or Per Se?
We left the kids with a babysitter…
(they went to the park where they found their friends!)
…and we headed into the city to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We didn’t feel at all guilty when we bought a diet coke and was “sharing it with Eli”!
We had an amazing, fabulous and truly special dinner with my amazing, fabulous and truly special husband.
Thank you to my clever, kind and wonderful husband for 10 amazing fun-and-adventure-filled years 🙂
Snakes in NJ?
who knew?
(you can see it in the water in photo if you look really closely…it is only a skinny little one!)
Oops! and we kept telling the kids how there were no snakes in NJ…luckily Wikipedia can set them straight!
Awwww … Mother’s Day
Our Ninja-bear turns 8!
Our gorgeous little bear turned 8 today!
Of course she got totally spoiled with pressies…
The we went to the Tuscan Annual Fair…
Then a fun trip into NYC with failed family photo attempts along the way…
…to a fun Ninja Restaurant. Beware! there is smoke, magic and Ninja’s jumping out when you least expect it!
(luckily mum packed Eli’s karate gear so that she could fit right in!)
Then the absolute highlight was a super-late ice-cream stop on the way home!
I am pretty sure it was the best birthday ever!
Grandparents On Duty
Quirky New York
On this visit to New York, we thought it would be fun to show dad and Helen a little of the less touristy (ahem less-classy but certainly fun!) side of New York.
This included the temple of beer worship that is the Burp Castle and a Chili-lighted Indian restaurant.
They were game and I had lots of fun 🙂
