Staycation Recovery Day
First day back at work….8 hours of non stop work & email sitting at a desk
So glad I have a desk job as this gardening stuff is hard work!!!
Final Day Staycation: Veggies are alot of work
Staycation Day 8: The High Point
After a leisurely brunch, we picked up the kids and our bears and headed up to High Point National Park.
Today they were having a Teddy’s bear’s picnic.
Then we headed up past Lake Marcia….
to check out the High Point Monument, which is erected on the highest point in the state of New Jersey. From there you can see New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Yes. The tigers were more interested in the bug collecting.
We then head home via dad’s much loved Fuddruckers. This was a real treat as his local one has shut down.
There was just enough time for a little jewelery making before heading to bed.
I don’t think these guys missed us too much last night xx
Staycation Day 7: What kids?
Today, Eli had to go to school as today was a “clawed backl” day as we had so many snow days this year.
Lachie had pre-K.
So Mum and dad (with nothing to do!) headed off to belatedly celebrate their anniversary.
Britney stayed overnight and looked after Eli and Lachie.
This is the first time in leaving the kids overnight with someone else (non-family).
I’m pretty sure they didn’t miss us too much…
(Mum & Dad could get used to this!)
Staycation Day 6: Needles & Thorns
Staycation Day 5: Things that go!
Today we headed in to NYC to the Sea, Air and Space Museum. There were planes, helicopters, boats, a concord, an aircraft carrier, a submarine and more! Big toy fun!
What better way to finish a day trip than good old southern BBQ at Daisy May’s and a walk through Maplewood’s Memorial park.
It was a fun day! We are definitely seeing the signs of spring now 🙂
Staycation Day 4: AC – check!
It was time to head home…
but we couldn’t resist seeing a few sights along the way…!
An infamous White House sub for lunch…
Then we arrived home, very excited to find a finished driveway and patio! What a welcome 🙂
No rest for the wicked
There was no rest for the wicked, as we off for a magic show that evening.
First stop was the Tropicana (where it is never night time?), for a yummy dinner and then the super fun Joe Holiday magic show:
The boys then went home, while us girls took to the boardwalk once more. We caught the light show and found an ice cream as we wandered back to the hotel.
A fun day!
Staycation Day 3: The Boardwalk
Nothing says Atlantic City quite like the boardwalk…

Rest assured, there was time for bug hunting…
You may notice that the casino part of the hotels, don’t have windows…
Eli gets the most impressive effort award for the day. As she walked the length of the boardwalk (1.9 miles – twice today!)
After we walked the boardwalk, we grabbed lunch and then the jitney home…
for a nice deserved rest.
