10 months OLD and having lots of fun!
* I can sit along with the best of them. In fact I sit so well that I can sit in the trailer of Eli’s bike as she zooms along (carefully watched by Dad of course!)
* I am an expert roll-er and can tummy-shuffle or sit-shuffle in any direction I want to go (including around in circles 🙂
* I have two teeth down the bottom and four about to push through up the top any day now.
* I can push to a sitting position from lying on the floor. No-one has actually seen me do it but they have entered the room to find me already up.
* I like to stand and hold on to things. I’m still really enjoying the jolly jumper.
* My favourite foods are meat, meat and pretty much any kind of meat!
* I love to sing (“ahhhhhhh”) with you and bop to music.
* I have a little cold at the moment and thanks to my grommets (I assume?) it has stayed a little cold and has not become a full blown ear infection.
* I am trying really hard to interact with people (especially Eli). I like to clap, wave and hi-five.
* When I get older I am going to become a demolition man. I love destroying block towers and block buildings at whatever rate you can build them at.
Haircut with Mum
Haircuts are a lot more fun when you get them done with Mum!

I Wish That I Had Duck Feet!
The Christmas surprises this year had a distinct Dr Suess theme! (Purely by chance since they are always developed in strict family secrecy…)
Since getting it from Santa, I’ve been addicted to I Wish That I Had Duck Feet. So, Dad decided to see what it would be like if we did have duck feet, horns, a whale spout, a long tail and an elephant nose!
One things for sure … it’s a lot of fun to try!
A long, long tail is also great, but as predicted in the book, you can get tied up with it…
For the next few days the duck feet got a lot of action around the house – including baths and flying with Uncle Jus.
Adventure Fridays
In preparation for mum going back to work in Janaury, Lachie has been having one day in PlayCare to help him get used to the place. This has given mum and I a chance to have what I call “adventure Fridays”. A chance for mum and I (and dad and I once) to have some one-on-one time and do some big kid stuff. We’ve been having a really cool time and gone to some really fun places. Some of the highlights include:
- The Gorillas giving each other piggy backs and the baby elephant at Taronga zoo.
- The big blue bucket emptying over the pool and the water slides at Homebush Aquatic Centre.
- The ultimate sandpit and fun waves at Newport beach.
- The Magical Chrissy decorations in the city where I got to ride the polar express and chat with Santa.
- Rocking it out at a Wiggles concert.
There were six in total – we had a great time!
Gingerbread house
The other night we went to Harvey & Griet’s house for a Christmas party with all the kids from mother’s group.
It was amazing! They had a jumping castle setup in the living room and we were allowed to actually dive in, pull apart and eat a gingerbread house!
This photo has Harvey, Elimena, Anna, Griet, Luca (back to us). At the back is Xana and Jamie. Meanwhile Mum and Lachie seemed more interested in his dummy…
The Joy Of Sitting
Wrestling with Nate and Eli
Mum and Dad – I love to wrestle. Stop worrying!
This is a classic action shot from around our house these days as Elimena and I do some great wrestling, with me giggling the whole time. Thankfully this is only a photo so you can’t hear the olds in the background saying “Be careful!”, “Gentle Eli”, etc.
Elimena-isms @ how many months?
I have a few sayings that are uniquely mine that make me totally endearing, or so they tell me…
When I like something I say “Elimena big cuddle Christmas tree!“. I mean that I like big Chrissy trees 🙂
Not everyone is at PlayCare all five days. Like me I’m only there three. The people are different on different days of the week. So if someone is not there I describe them as being “sick” even though it may be a day they are not enrolled. If they are there they are “very happy“.
My favourite sayings at the moment are:
Oh man! (thank you Swiper off Dora)
Ooopsy-daisy!
Ooooh big one!
Uh Oh!
That’s silly! or That’s funny! (followed by a big mischievous chuckle 🙂
and mum’s favourite: Awwwwww! That’s nice 🙂
I have invented my own alphabet. It’s kind of like the original but much better: ABCDEFGHIJKElimenaPQRSTUVWXYZ. Works well huh?
