Professional flower girl?

October 2, 2008

Mum was very excited to be the celebrant officiating the wedding.
If mum is going to do more and more of these celebrant gigs – I wonder how I can swaggle an invite?
Do you think I could become a professional flower girl?
Think of all the pretty dresses I would get to wear 🙂

Aunty Nai & Uncle Josh tied the knot – literally…

Mum and dad went to Aunty Naomi and Uncle Josh’s wedding on Sunday night. (See here for when Nai told me the news and here for the engagement party). The wedding sounded just like a beautiful fairytale. Particularly the part about dancing under the stars and fairy-lights in the courtyard. They said they had a great time 🙂

Part of the ceremony included a hand-fastening ceremony performed by the mothers of the bride and groom. So they literally tied the knot….he he he 🙂

Below is a piccie. Hopefully Aunty Nai won’t mind me sharing it with you…

Meanwhile I got to spend the afternoon/evening with Uncle Jus. It was cool. Mum and Dad called it baby-sitting (I hate that word) but I call it partying. We had a blast. We chased the birds. We patted Charlie (the golden-retriever next door). We played lots of fun games. It’s great having Uncle Jus around lots. Who else wants to get married so I can spend another night partying with Uncle Jus?

Cruising for chicks

Sometimes I like to take my bike for a spin around the house…

On a good day I find a cool chick (Mum) to hang out with!

Denarau Island, Fiji

While I love playcare and jam packed weekends, sometimes you just have to get away and unwind. By August, we were ready for a true family holiday. Dad kept on mumbling about how he hadn’t had any time off since Oct 2007 when he was trying to teach me to drink from the bottle. (We all loved visiting Kota Kinabalu, but Dad ended up working pretty much all week.)

We were planning to go to Queensland, but our flights fell through, so we booked a last minute special to the Radisson Resort, Denarau Island, Fiji instead!

We’d go to the park to play and enjoy the heat…

Then get dressed for the pool…

After swimming, we’d head into town for dinner, autograph signing and night dancing…

Mum and Dad think this was the perfect holiday routine of swimming, sleeping and eating too much. It was good, but if it were up to me, we’d be backpacking

A messy day

Sometimes, even at breakfast, you just know that it’s going to be a messy day.

Playcare Olympics

The opening ceremony was full of colour and movement. The events featured exceptional performances and high drama. The village was filled with food, drink and social events. The taste of gold was sweet.

Apparently there was also something happening in Beijing?

  • Mum still can’t give me pig tails. She bought me some cool sparkly clips but unfortunately they just fall out. One day I will have enough hair to wear them…..
  • My favourite food is watermelon.
  • I’ve got too much to do to snuggle in in the mornings anymore. Mum is devastated!
  • I am back to being a good sleeper.
  • Mum can’t count when it comes to teeth! I have sixteen – the front 8, 4 double teeth and the four corner (canine?) teeth. I can eat pretty much anything now!
  • I love the Wiggles, bags, music and slippery dips.
  • I can put the balls in piles of colours. Particularly the blue ones – I love a bag full of the blue balls.
  • I am a good helper. I help put things on the table for dinner and I help rub in the baby powder and paw paw cream. I like to help with my shoes and socks but I am better at taking them off than I am at putting them on – I am working on it though 🙂
  • My words are getting better every day – including mum, dad, more, ta, up, ball, bot bot (bottle), bath, wall (dad taught me this important one). He was also trying to teach me socks – but that is a hard one!

Happiness is Dad’s wallet and a tiara

Great shopping feats are only possible due to a consistent and challenging training regime. Currently I’m focused on accessories and unlocking the secrets in Dad’s wallet.

So what have I been up to? Let me think….

  • I now have loads of hair but still not enough for a pony tail 😦
  • I have had a tooth explosion. Mum is too scared to stick a finger in my mough to count how many….but she guesses around twenty-ish.
  • I have a real sweet tooth.
  • I LOVE the wiggles and dancing and music!
  • I am officially a toddler. No more crawling for me!
  • My favourite foods are cheese, BBQ chicken, fruit and yoghurt. Yum cha is always fun 🙂
  • I have been practising using my words.
  • I love sleeping in with mum on the weekends.
  • I have taken to climbing up and standing / dancing on things. In particular tables, chairs and couches.
  • I love the swings, climbing and can do the slippery dip by myself!

High heels

We went to the shoe shop on Saturday. Mum and Dad were focused on finding good walking shoes. Not me, I was trying to locate the high heels that I’ve heard so much about…

I had to climb all this way up the ladder by myself to reach them!

Dad was no help, he kept saying “be careful”, “not too high” and trying to hold me (back). So much negativity and he hadn’t even seen the high heels on yet!
